Had a great show at Downtown Brew in San Luis Obispo, CA last night. It was the CD Release Show for The Damon Castillo Band. It was a real honor that those guys invited me to play on their big night.
I felt really good about my performance last night. I had a friend named Natalie Haskins come up and sing with me. She did a few of her tunes and backed me up on a few of mine. I think we did ok for our first performance together. I was happy that she got to experience the wonderful sound system at DTB. It is a tough place to get into as a solo act, and I feel fortunate every time I walk onto that stage.
Crowd was a bit chatty last night but I am getting much better at sucking it up and playing for the ones that really are listening.
Also the Opener was a young guy by the name of Chase Mcbride. He was a nice guy and is very talented as well. I enjoyed his tunes and getting to know him.
Of course Damon Castillo Band did a great job. They are such a tight band. You can really tell those guys work hard at the music. I wish them the best and I hope they sold a shit ton of albums last night. I know I grabbed a copy. I haven’t had a chance to listen to it yet. I will prolly pop that guy in on the way to the office tomorrow.
In other news.. I had a nice, honest review for my album posted on this website.
Hollywood Jesus if you have some time take a look.
cheers,
Joe
